Hannah joins our Ankara office as part of our commitment to promoting comparative legal education, international legal cooperation, and cross-border professional development. Her internship provides an opportunity to gain first-hand experience of legal practice in Türkiye while working alongside our lawyers on complex international legal matters.
Academic Background
Hannah is currently pursuing her Juris Doctor degree at Saint Louis University School of Law. Prior to beginning law school, she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Lindenwood University. Her academic interests include:

Professional Experience
Before joining Bıçak Law Firm, Hannah completed an internship with the Saint Charles County Executive Office in Missouri, where she conducted legal and policy research, prepared analytical memoranda, and contributed to projects involving public administration, local government, transportation policy, housing, and judicial developments. Her previous professional experience has strengthened her legal research, analytical writing, and public policy skills.
Research Focus During the Internship
During her internship at Bıçak, Hannah will contribute to several international legal research projects, including:
- Extradition between Türkiye and the United States;
- U.S. court decisions relating to extradition involving Türkiye;
- Comparative criminal procedure;
- International judicial cooperation;
- Comparative legal analysis of cross-border criminal justice issues.
She will also examine U.S. case law for publication on international legal knowledge platforms and contribute to legal research undertaken by our International Practice Group.
Learning the Turkish Legal System
The internship is designed to provide much more than traditional legal research. Hannah will have the opportunity to observe the practical operation of the Turkish legal system through interactions with our legal team, participation in selected professional meetings, and exposure to legal practice in one of Türkiye’s leading internationally oriented law firms. The programme also aims to introduce participants to Türkiye’s legal culture, judicial institutions, and the broader business environment in which international legal services are delivered.
