Graduated as a High Honor Student from Bahçeşehir University Faculty of Law in June 2018 with a bachelor degree. The school she graduated from ranks among the best universities in Turkey and to be enrolled in, she have ranked 300 among 2 million students in the University Entrance Exam. Because of her high success, she got a scholarship from Bahçeşehir University and during her 4 years of law study. Also, Bahçeşehir University gave her the change to study English in Washington DC, America for 8 months. During her stay there she took English courses from American teachers to improve her English writing, reading and speaking skills. While she was studying English in the USA during the years of 2013 and 2014 she also paerticipated in the law courses at Georgetown University Faculty of Law, which lead to improve her legal English and learn the difference between civil law and common law systems. The times she spent in the USA had taught her valuable experiences.
During her education at the Bahçeşehir University, she always tried to gain work experience by working as a student intern at different law offices, courts and government ministry offices. She worked at the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, The Constitutional Court of the Republic of Turkey, Court of Cassation, Turkish Competition Authority, Doğuş Law Firm. She also took the World Intellectual Property Organisation’s General Course on Intellectual Property classes and got the certificate.
During her senior year at the university, she was one of the members of The Annual Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot team. Her mock trial experience taught her to argue both sides of a case and helped her to develop solid legal research and writing skills. For a year, as seven members of the team, overcame many stressful situations which eventually taught them how to be a better team member.
Having acquired her undergraduate degree from Bahçeşehir University with a GPA of 3.3 out of 4.00, she has set the goal of acquiring a Master’s degree in Law in the UK.
Upon graduation in 2018, she undertook her compulsory one year internship program in Ankara Bar Association which is completed in October 2019, which has enabled her to align her academic knowledge with on-field experience and at the end of the internship, she has managed to successfully pass the interview conducted by Ankara Bar Association and has qualified as a lawyer.
Besides her internship at SASA&SASA and BEYAZIT Law Office which is specialized in different areas of law, she has spent the first six months of one-year internship in the Ankara Main Courthouse (the largest one in Turkey), working with public prosecutors and judges. As an intern, she has had the chance to attend trials as an observer, do paperwork for some trials, study different cases, do clerical work as a lawyer, interact with court and law office staff and as they say ‘sniff the court atmosphere’ and gain insightful information about how the overall judicial system operates in Turkey.
Information Technology will be one of the most important areas in the developing and changing world. That is why she always have a specific interest in that area and accepted to the LLM program in England.
She was born in England, Nottingham while her father was doing his PhD. She used to live in the USA and many other European countries.
